Reimagining Service Council and its members.
To focus and propel the work of Reimagining Service, there is a 26-member national Council with representatives from multiple sectors involved with volunteerism. The Council will work cooperatively and openly with the community of practitioners, educators, intermediaries, funders and leaders in the volunteer world.
The Council will be guided by an Executive Director who reports to the Executive Committee of the Reimagining Service Council. The Council is committed to working together to leverage the power of our collective voices, experiences, skills and resources to inspire changes to policy and practices in volunteer engagement. Specifically, the Council will:
- Broker cross‐sector partnerships to pilot and research new volunteer practices and policies and to explore and test more creative utilization of volunteers
- Bring new data and insights to better understand high performing organizations with strong volunteer practices and disseminate best practices throughout the volunteer community
- Provide insight into the most effective and efficient processes that lead to becoming a service enterprise – an organization that fundamentally leverages volunteers as a core strategic function to achieve the social mission of the organization
- Attract more funders and funding to volunteer engagement by building a compelling business case and increasing funder awareness of the power of volunteers in achieving broader community goals
It is our intention to be inclusive in gathering input, sharing knowledge and results, and to track the goals set by Reimagining Service.
